Position summary: The Director – IT Finance Systems is a senior IT Leader accountable for providing technology partnership and delivery on system capabilities for all Finance business activities at Cepheid. He/She will partnering with Cepheid’s Finance organization to lead the digital transformation of its business processes. This role is expected to act as a strategic partner to Finance and collaborate with them to define and implement capability roadmaps and technology solutions that enable business objectives. This role will drive the assessment, prioritization and execution of projects and lead an internal team of Finance Technology Associates as well as external Consultants to deliver high quality solutions. This role would be operating in a matrix organization structure directly responsible for Americas Finance Systems needs as well as providing functional leadership (dotted-line) to the EMEA and APAC Finance IT resources. Essential job responsibilities: Act as Business Relationship Manager to Finance executives to understand their goals and the business capabilities they require Develop and communicate IT solutions roadmap to address those business needs, in alignment with the overall IT Enterprise Architecture guidelines In collaboration with Finance management, lead the process of getting new requests for IT solutions assessed and prioritized Collaborate with regional IT managers to gain alignment on regional vs global priorities, and to allocate resources accordingly in a matrixed environment. Accountable for successful delivery of all Finance IT projects Run projects through their complete lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering, through design to implementation and post-production support Lead SAP Finance professionals, with dotted line oversight over regional associates, providing supervision and coaching to continuously develop the capabilities of the team and its ability to deliver business value Lead external providers to deliver on committed SLAs for application support and projects Evaluate, select and lead new vendors (applications or consulting) when needed to support requirements not covered by existing partners or solutions Collaborate with other IT functions to ensure solutions are well designed, integrated and aligned with other functions’ IT roadmaps Promote the use of robust project portfolio and project management methodologies Regularly communicate project status and progress against roadmaps to Finance partners Education and Experience (in years): Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field or the equivalent in work experience. 14 years of experience in the IT profession focused on ERP design and management 10 years of SAP FICO configuration and implementation experience, with good understanding of the integration with other SAP modules (especially SD, MM and PP) 5 years supporting the Finance function in a global manufacturing company 5 years in a supervisory role, leading a team in Finance IT and SAP professionals Knowledge and skills: Experience of financial processes in a multi-national, multi-currency manufacturing and distribution environment. Experience working with 3rd party Finance applications integrated to SAP (tax software, A/P or A/R automation, expense management, financial planning, etc.) Demonstrated success in implementing global and complex IT systems projects on time and within budget Experience building relationships with senior Finance leaders to comprehend their business strategies and requirement and to design solutions to meet those needs Ability to provide multi-functional leadership to ensure project objectives are met Ability to identify, clarify and resolve project issues and risks as needed.
