Job DescriptionOrganon’s Systems Applications and Products (SAP) Center of Excellence (COE) organization has the charge to design, build, implement and sustain enterprise Enabling Function (including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)) and Supply Chain solutions based on the SAP S4/HANA technology platform.This role will work integrally with the COE organization and external service providers as well as the Business Technology (BT) Technical organization to design, build, implement and sustain systems and solutions to support the global Organon business contained within the COE.The Associate Director of SAP COE will be part of the SAP COE but for the duration of the SAP ERP deployment, and will be a member of the global project implementation team.This role will provide core SAP expertise for the development and maintenance of systems to support:Run S4/HANA Daily OperationsBasis AdministrationSystem Landscape and Infrastructure Design System Upgrade and Maintenance supportSolution Manager and System Change ManagementRole DescriptionWork with BT peers and business counterparts to determine requirements forGlobal system deployment and related business system supportBusiness continuity, System availability and performance improvements. Design, implement, test and support all SAP systems required to realize the end-to-end SAP solution required to meet the business needs.Develop, implement, document, and test backup, system recovery, and disaster recovery solutions and procedures for SAP systems.Create and maintain production standard operation procedures (SOPs)Provide technical leadership in resolution SAP related issues focusing on root cause analysis and implement corrective action plansOverseeing SAP development initiatives and team membersProducing gap analysis to identify alternate solutions specific to SAP development and providing technical recommend.This role conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Organon Values, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) & global regulatory guidelines (including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)/ current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP)/ current Good Clinical Practices (cGCP), environmental guidelines, as appropriate, etc.ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesSupport the global deployment of SAP within the corporation and start to transition into the SAP COE Support LeadDefine and implement required policies and procedures and standards to set up and maintain a global SAP landscapeSupport the implementation of SAP job-roles and GRC policiesReview and analyze solution enhancement requests to determine complexity and provide resource/cost estimatesDevelop and manage project plans. Lead projects as required, as well as contribute as a team member to project teamsProvide input to long-term IT strategy necessary to achieve organizational objectivesPerform thorough analysis to identify all potential impacts for change requestsTrain and transfer knowledge to other team members, users and stakeholders as requiredKnowledge transfer to Production Support at conclusion on enhancement deliveryClient ManagementEnsure customer expectations have been met through delivery and ongoing execution of servicesGather and analyze business requests to determine how best to create successful resolution for new requests and issuesHelp consumers understand service offerings available from internal IT service providers and secure appropriate resources for projects, engaging with the business, and facilitating service deliveryPrepare business case for BT investmentsFollow governance processes that facilitate business prioritization and align with BTFacilitate technology initiatives which directly impact clients portfolioAlign BT services with current and future needs of the business and its customers while improving quality of services deliveredOngoing Systems & Service Delivery and Process ImprovementDeploy global IT processes, develop and maintain organizational quality indicators, and monitor client satisfactionProvide information to IT and Business leadership regarding best practices, industry trends and business opportunities, as well as, feedback on the overall performance of processes and toolsUnderstand key business controls and impacts of changes caused by functionality, technology changes and changing business needs Provide support for global and regional systems and servicesWork to ensure audit, SOX and other compliance requirementsSteward the development and implementation of process capabilities (process, tools and roles) & metricsIdentify and initiate process improvements (continuous improvement)Monitor process compliance and performance metricsExecute key operational process activitiesManage resources:20-30 Contract FTEs15-20 employees and team members of the SAP COE.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Technical, System Administration, IT Infrastructure Managements or Business fieldMS or MBA preferredExperience:8-10 years of Enterprise SAP, S4/HANA, or Basis Administration and SAP Development experience with multiple full life cycle implementationsExperience with ABAP and Portal development solutions is preferred.SAP Service Delivery Management and COE Leader ExperienceDemonstrated experience of various IT practices, including but not limited to, project management, operational service delivery, large project implementationsDemonstrated ability to work across organizational regional and global boundaries, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-divisional and cross-functional environmentAbility to work independently, effectively coordinating multiple priorities in a dynamic and changing environment and also in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentAdept at understanding customer challenges, navigating from problem to resolution and communicating process and resolution effectively both verbally and in writingDemonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management and staffDemonstrated ability to lead teamsStrategic Application of Information Systems and business analysisExperience in life sciences / pharmaceuticals industry preferredTechnical/Functional Competencies:Extensive experience driving resources and managing teams with system administration and development of SAP systems in several or all of the following areas:Basis Administration:Operating system (UNIX or Windows) Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MaxDB etc)Netweaver business suite components ECC 6.0, SCM7.0, BI 7.0, CRM, SRM, BPC, MDG, Enterprise Portals, S4/HANA and Non SAP systems.
